In Kittelfjäll, in southern Lapland, we have designed an 18-bed log cabin for an outdoor-oriented family on a steep, sloping site next to the local ski lift system. The house is built in souterrain with a ground floor made of plastered lightweight concrete. On top of this, two floors are constructed with homogeneous timber covered by a green roof. The interior walls are made of timber and wood paneling, with limestone flooring and sawed pine wood.
In addition to the architecture, Blank has designed the house’s fixed furniture and parts of the loose interior using pine and oak as consistent material choices.
