Remodeling of single-family house
Bromma, Stockholm
2020-2022
Built
Private

In Norra Ängby in Bromma, Blank has worked on the internal reorganization of a classic 1930s house that was built as a part of the own home movement aiming to enable working class families to build their own homes. The small house was extended towards the garden in the 1980s, a well-needed expansion of the house that wasn’t done in the most sensitive manner. A reshuffling of the plan has resulted in a larger kitchen and a bigger dining area with a clearer connection to the living room in the extension, which in turn has gained a stronger visual link to the beautiful small beech forest in the back of the house through a large new fixed window. Blank has been responsible for the new interior design, where new oak floors, a new color scheme, as well as new built-in furniture, help create a more cohesive overall experience.
