Lomma Municipality

Gränsland brings Bjärred and Borgeby closer together and allows the two communities to meet in an elongated park that connects the surrounding green areas and forms the backbone of the new district. The proposal is based on the division of the existing fields and thus spans an arc between past and present, between agrarian and knowledge society. The plan takes hold of the site’s existing peculiarities and creates a clear, easily legible and dense structure that connects to Bjärred, Borgeby and surrounding green structures in a natural way that promotes movements and exchanges between the new district and its surroundings. Its compact character means that the area north of Domedelja Mosse can be left completely undeveloped. In doing this, we protect valuable agricultural land at the same time as the land can serve as a reserve for possible future expansion.
